Company Pedigree
JWS have a growing presence on-line and acting as a distributor as well as the fundamental role as designers and manufacturers of access control and electronic products. ( see Design & Manufacture for more details).
The company can be traced back to 1977 when the principal began designing electronic digital locks. In 1984 Macrosoft UK Ltd. headed by John Wainwright and Peter Cavaney was formed in Bath and began designing card and proximity systems. Initially only single door systems were produced but were quickly followed by multi-door network systems and finally computer controlled solutions.
'Europlex Technologies' bought Macrosoft UK Ltd. in 1991 and after completing contractual conditions it was possible to restart as 'John Wainwright Systems Ltd. (JWS) in January 1995 once again in Bath. JWS acted as a distributor for Europlex Technologies access equipment for the UK, having originally designed the equipment we are able to provide a first class service.
It was a fundamental requirement that JWS would develop its own product range. Whilst we still offer support and some hardware for the Macrosoft range, the company now has a comprehensive range of access control equipment designed & manufactured in-house.
As well as the main-stream access control products JWS have also developed the 'Touch Switch' Request To Exit switch and the Touch range of access aids for the Disabled and Visually impaired. Now located in Westfield ( 8 miles south of Bath ) we are now able to offer a fully functional demonstration room for client product awareness and training sessions.
