FAQ |
Do you install the equipment yourselves or can we ?
In short, No we don't install the equipment. We consider ourselves as specialists at designing and manufacturing access control equipment, we leave the installation to qualified and indeed certified professionals. If you are an installing company then we can obviously deal with you directly. If you are an 'end-user' then please call us and we can suggest a few choice companies who we have dealt with over the last ten + years and are very happy with.
What area do you cover / where can we buy your products... ?
Although we are based mainly in Midsomer Norton, Bath, we supply nationwide and indeed export goods to places such as Ireland & Gibraltar. All of our products can be bought 'off the shelf ' direct from JWS, and The TS4 'Touch Switch' can be found stock -ed nationwide by Abloy, Avocet, CPC, Tyco,Colson, and Ingersoll Rand.
Can we see JWS Products working first... ?
Yes, we suggest three possibilities, whether you're an installer or an end-user. The first is to visit us in Midsomer Norton, Bath and see our fully functional demo rooms. You are welcome to call in at any time and get a free (!) guided tour of any, or all, of the JWS product range. Secondly, we can suggest reference sites local to you (UK only) where you can be let loose and ask the people that actually use our products all the right questions! We can visit you, ( UK only, although Hot & Sunny locations will be seriously considered ). Give us a call and say that you are interested in a JWS product(s) and we can arrange to send someone to your door to give you a demonstration ( no obligation & F.O.C. of course).
Do you undertake equipment commissioning or maintenance contracts ... ?
As stated in the above we won't install our equipment, however we do offer equip -ment commissioning and maintenance contracts. We understand that with every system, especially your first one, reading through that 400 page manual can be a bit mind-numbing. Our engineers can visit site and guide you through the final stages of installation and customer hand-over. You will find that all JWS products are designed with an emphasis on , excuse the cliché, 'user friendly-ness', and are extremely intuitive, but we can be there if needed.
We can arrange maintenance contracts, either undertaken directly buy JWS or by an agentof ours if you are out of our immediate catchment area. Please call us for details.
I have to upgrade my PC seemingly every three weeks will the same apply to ... ?
There are many sites that have used JWS equipment for several years and have found that therehas been no need to upgrade. Most systems remain 'as is' for their operational lifetime due to cleverdesign & inclusion of proven and reliable products at the initial design stage, in other words, its good kit that will stand the test of time and technological advances. For example, units that start off using mag-stripe read -ers can be upgraded to use proximity readers, the only cost being the reader.
We have a very modular approach to system design. If you start off buying access control equipment for just a few doors we believe you are entitled to an upgrade path that will not cause you ( or your customer ) financial heartache should they wish to go further in the future. We have several access control products which can start off as fully functional single standalone door controllers and and be upgraded if required at a later point to a fully fledged PC controlled network at minimal cost.
Have I got to use your access cards or can I........ ?
John Wainwright Systems Ltd. do produce their own cards and of course we would like you to use them. However, we do have many installers who prefer to use their own cards. We can produce, at a very competitive rate, cards to your supplied artwork and specification. Cost vary according to quantity, design, number of colours used etc. so ring for details.
Installers - if you have a customer that already has cards on their site but wishes to upgrade the access control equipment without getting rid of them, ask JWS about equipment supporting the 'Learn a card' facility. It may be possible to use the existing cards on site thus saving costs and reducing your quote to them; getting you one step ahead of the competition! |
